We are proud to be a safety conscious company and our performance is one of the best in the demolition industry, a fact borne out by us winning our sixth consecutive British Safety Council International Safety Award.
Our proactive approach to Health and Safety is made at various levels and stages which can be summarised and broadly placed under the following headings.
Expertise available:

Management team have over 50 years demolition experience and hold relevant CSCS cards for their duties and membership within the Institute of Demolition Engineers.

9 CSCS/NFDC Supervisors have over 110 years demolition experience within the company.

Full time dedicated Health & Safety Advisor who is also a member of IOSH and an Incorporated Engineer.
Training

Company holds and maintains the Gold standard for CSCS achievement.

All operational employees hold a CSCS/NFDC Demolition Card and/or a CSCS/CPCS Plant card according to the work they are required to undertake.

Managers and 6 Supervisor have attended and passed CITB SMSTS course.

All operational employees have passed a relevant CITB Touch Screen H & S test within the past 2 years.

Almost 1 in 3 operational employees are full First Aiders.

Employees have attended various other courses, including, scaffold tower erection, harness inspection, scaffold inspection, cable detection, etc.

Each potential project is individually planned with a bespoke Method Statement

Site specific Risk Assessments are prepared for each Method Statement

A compressive Health & Safety Plan is prepared where the Company takes on the role of Principal Contractor

Services of external structural engineers are employed when necessary
Keeping up to date

Company is an active member of National Federation of Demolition Contractors.

Company fully supports and pays levy to the CITB.
- Company is also member of BSC, CHAS, CHSG and various local Health & Safety groups.

Company has regular and separate consultation meetings with its manual employees, supervisors and managers where Health & Safety always heads the agenda.
It is of paramount importance that we complete a project on, or ahead, of programme and if possible exceed a client's expectations. However, this must involve a high recognition of all matters related to Health & Safety. In addition to our own in-house health & safety training programme, we work in close harmony with the National Demolition Training Group and routinely use training providers to the Construction Industry Training Board to carry out our training to the required standard |
